Finding the right speaker can make or break your big event. Using the Event Speaker Agreement is a best practice for any event host or professional speaker who wants to be clear about how they work, answering questions like:

• Is the speaker required to appear at other sessions or gatherings during the event?
• Will the speaker or the host own any recordings of the speaker’s presentation, and how can recordings be used?
• Can the host request a refund if the speaker engages in behavior or speech that is offensive prior to or during the speaker’s presentation?
• Can the speaker back out of appearing at the event if the host engages in similar distasteful behavior?

The Event Speaker Agreement can be used by either the host or the speaker and was created in collaboration with DEI consultants Erica Courdae and India Jackson of Pause on the Play. It includes terms to protect the diversity, equity, and inclusion principles you’ve worked so hard to foster for your event, business, or personal brand.
